I’ve been working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses… and drifting way off track… but what else is new… I seriously have to work out a way to bring the story back around to my desired ending or the next two books won’t make sense.
I’ve also been working on retweaking my story ideas on TASH and turning it into a series… Which I’ll eventually have to come up with a name for… but there’ll be 6 books in all.
I’ve gone through all my back burner books and current WIPS to make sure they are all in order. I even tossed a few to the wayside, because even I didn’t know what the hell I was thinking.
I’m still waiting to hear back about my cover and release date for Moon Runners 2: I Won’t Let You Go.
This is what I’ve been up to for the last couple of days Some of it has even been to do with writing… Go Me!
- Fixing up my gardens yet again—I’m not going to say the dynamic duo of Oliver & Robson ran amok and knocked it all about again… but I did have to transplant a few things and shift them to safer ground.
- I wrote up and now need to type up a new story Idea (NSI) though I’m thinking I might find THE HUNTED and see if I can marry the two together somehow and use it in one of that trilogy.
- Emailed Fireborn to see what’s happening about a cover and release date on MOON RUNNERS 2: I Won’t Let You Go… I’ll keep you informed on what I hear back.
- Still working on THE LINES OF MARSDEN 4: The Trail of Red Roses... trying to keep myself on track of where I need to be in the storyline.
- also getting together everything I need for the next instalments of THE CONNELLY CHRONICLES 3: Because of You… & WARDENS OF THE GUILD 3: Heart Strings.
Everyone is talking about the author who has Trademarked that certain word and is calling out people and threatening legal action if they don’t change their titles—which realistically means a change of cover and a shit load of problems for the poor authors in the process. I don’t even want to say the person’s name as that is only giving power to them.
I must admit that I am no way affected by what she is trying to achieve in her absurd power grab… but I feel for my fellow authors who are. Everyone seems to be so caught up in the hatred of what’s going on. I think instead we should band together and ignore her. Shun her like in days of old. Maybe then she’ll realise she’s not the be all and end all of the writing world. Though I’m not one to speak as I’m not as famous as others in our world either. I prefer my little spot where I sit back and watch and listen. I write my books and sell a few here and there. All is good in my world. I try not to make waves.
Though I do think if her so-called followers can’t tell the difference between her name and someone else’s then maybe she should concentrate on making sure her name is clearer on her covers instead of bitching about everything else.
Honestly, I would like one day in our writing world where things ran smoothly and people actually got on with each other. We should be supporting each other to get our names out there. To help get our sales up and the word spread that we are awesome at what we do… instead of trying to tear each other down.
Maybe one day I’ll go onto social media and see people saying nice stuff about their fellow authors. I’m not saying I don’t see that now. I’m just saying that there’s too much of the bad crap mixed in with it.
Okay, my rambling rant is over… I should add this is my opinion only. so don’t go blaming anyone else for what I’ve written here today. Sometimes I just need to get the thoughts out of my head so I can move on and start fresh.
One day of perfection.
