#4: The Trail of Red Roses
This is what I’m working on today.
I’ve been working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses… and drifting way off track… but what else is new… I seriously have to work out a way to bring the story back around to my desired ending or the next two books won’t make sense.
I’ve also been working on retweaking my story ideas on TASH and turning it into a series… Which I’ll eventually have to come up with a name for… but there’ll be 6 books in all.
I’ve gone through all my back burner books and current WIPS to make sure they are all in order. I even tossed a few to the wayside, because even I didn’t know what the hell I was thinking.
I’m still waiting to hear back about my cover and release date for Moon Runners 2: I Won’t Let You Go.
This is what I’ve been up to for the last couple of days Some of it has even been to do with writing… Go Me!
Everyone is talking about the author who has Trademarked that certain word and is calling out people and threatening legal action if they don’t change their titles—which realistically means a change of cover and a shit load of problems for the poor authors in the process. I don’t even want to say the person’s name as that is only giving power to them.
I must admit that I am no way affected by what she is trying to achieve in her absurd power grab… but I feel for my fellow authors who are. Everyone seems to be so caught up in the hatred of what’s going on. I think instead we should band together and ignore her. Shun her like in days of old. Maybe then she’ll realise she’s not the be all and end all of the writing world. Though I’m not one to speak as I’m not as famous as others in our world either. I prefer my little spot where I sit back and watch and listen. I write my books and sell a few here and there. All is good in my world. I try not to make waves.
Though I do think if her so-called followers can’t tell the difference between her name and someone else’s then maybe she should concentrate on making sure her name is clearer on her covers instead of bitching about everything else.
Honestly, I would like one day in our writing world where things ran smoothly and people actually got on with each other. We should be supporting each other to get our names out there. To help get our sales up and the word spread that we are awesome at what we do… instead of trying to tear each other down.
Maybe one day I’ll go onto social media and see people saying nice stuff about their fellow authors. I’m not saying I don’t see that now. I’m just saying that there’s too much of the bad crap mixed in with it.
Okay, my rambling rant is over… I should add this is my opinion only. so don’t go blaming anyone else for what I’ve written here today. Sometimes I just need to get the thoughts out of my head so I can move on and start fresh.
One day of perfection.
Five minutes to change it all’
All it took was the cruelty of one man and the actions of their clan to tear them apart.
Fated Mates; destined for each other. Forced into a solitary life until another enters their story.
Will his presence reunite them? Or will the past rear its ugly head and destroy them
Death. Solitude. Grief.
And one bright star in the darkness.
When he discovers his guiding light he is related to the person responsible for two of the deaths will Nate welcome her with open arms? Or turn her away from the stain now marring his family name?
What happens to Kirsty when the darkness bleeds over, forever tainting the life they could have shared?
Will Nate stick around or cut and run?
Tiffany knows Santa is real. After all, she caught her mother with him ten years ago. What Tiffany doesn’t realise is that the shifters she reads about are real, too, and there’s one on her roof.
Robert was kidnapped as a child and forced to live a life of slavery until one night he meets his mate. She frees him from the spell he’s under and escapes the clutches of the one who stole him.
They think they’re getting their HEA, only now Tiffany finds herself wielding incredible amounts of unmanageable magic, and there’s only one person who can help her.
These guys are the Stenmark twins are the inspiration for the characters in my new idea. Grant & Warren Stanton (with tie) they’re close but are very different people. Warren works for the father’s company [not sure what the company is yet] while Grant is a high profile photographer. He refused to work for the father (Oliver Stanton) when they left school and instead decided to make his own way in the world without his father’s money or backing. Warren toed the line. He dated a girl his father approved of worked in the department his father dictated and was damn good at his job. He might not always be happy, but he’s an adult now and life wasn’t always about being happy. Even though Grant went his own way his father never worried, it only seemed to be Warren he was hard on. I should add Warren is the MC in book one.
This is Milou Van Groesen (no clue who they are, I’m assuming they are a model. I’m not even sure if they are male or female, but for my story they are male). This is who I based Derek Miller on he is Grant’s best friend, and works for Oliver Stanton. Oliver had his reasons for hiring Derek which you find out in the book. When a death happens Derek &Warren find themselves thrown together.
What starts as a one-off soon turns into more as Warren’s world gets turned upside down. He finds out the world he has lived since he was 18 may have been a lie and he doesn’t know how to deal with it all. Through demands of some people and interference from others, it’s a wonder is Warren & Derek ever get together.
I’ve been busy writing down new story ideas. I think my sleep patterns are finally going back to normal and my dreams are giving me a whole bunch of awesome plots that could potentially turn into future books.
In saying that I’ve also been dreaming about my already existing characters and the stories they have to tell so I’m again working on The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses, as you know and have already plotted out the two books which follow to end off the first line in the series. Book 5: On the 12th Day is the only novella of the series or just over novella length at this stage, but it might change when it comes to actually writing it… and the first line ends with book 6: And then you Die.
I’ve also been busily reworking all my background notes on Outside the Safety Zone 1: Hiding in Plain Sight, and all the books that will follow after. I think people will enjoy this storyline when it finally comes to light.
The hardest one to work on is The Connelly Chronicles 3: Because of You, I’m having a little writer’s block on this one because I know what has to happen. I just can’t figure out how to do it without deviating too far from the path my story needs to be on and still arrive where it has to at the end (if that makes sense). Also, I’m still writing the plots for the last couple of books in the Wardens of the Guild series.
we are still waiting to hear about a release date for Moon Runners 2: I Won’t Let You Go. Next for Fireborn, I’m back onto The Freedomers: Craines Everlasting Faith (M/F) and The Diamond Rose 2: So Pretty on the Outside (M/M).
Just finished first edits and I have to say I hate writing blurbs. I suck at them so badly, and I feel so bad at my poor editor who has to read them and try and help me turn them into something that actually makes freaking sense.
but at least now Moon Runners 2: I Won’t Let You Go is back in the hands of Jamie DR for Fireborn Publishing. So until I get them back tomorrow I’m back onto The Lines of Marsden 4: The Trail of Red Roses for MLRPress.
